i guess my posts didn't help huh :|

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

haha, but if you get the concept then you can do all of these problems i tried to give you a general answer so you could do others

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

not quite...lets back up \[y = m|x-h| +k\] m is slope h is horizontal shift k is vertical shift Example: y = |x-3| -5 h = 3 , shift 3 to right k = -5, shift 5 down Example: y = |x+1| +2 h = -1 , shift 1 to left k = 2, shift 2 up make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waitttt just lemme look and think lol hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand how it would be d though

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

its Not D , so thats good

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

look at D, --> -7|x-8| -4 slope is good cause graph is going down inside " | |" its x -8 .... this means h=8 , a shift to right but that doesn't match graph

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

maybe this will help....think of |x+8| as |x - (-8)| then you see that h=-8 which is shift to left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it! thanks
