whats the equation of this line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y - intercept of 3: (0,3) x - intercept of 1.5: (1.5, 0) Slope: m = -2 so... using (y - y1) = m (x-x1) y - 3 = -2 (x - 1.5) y = -2(x - 1.5) +3 y = -2x + 3 + 3 y = -2x + 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that makes sense! but these are my answers. 2x-y=3 y-2x=3 2x+y=3 2x+4=-3 idk how you would get one of those answers..

OpenStudy (eyust707):

y = -2x + 3

OpenStudy (eyust707):

The intercept is 3 not 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but wouldnt you add the 3?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

francis used the point slope form incorrectly. You must only choose one point to plug into that formula.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Point: (0, 3) Slope: -2 \[y - y_{1} = m (x - x_{1}) \] \[y_{1} = 3\] \[x_{1} = 0\] \[m = -2\]

oh alright . so which one would it be then?
