Simplify: cos^2(3t) + sin^2(3t) I was thinking 3 (cos^2 + sin^2) but I don't think that is possible

cos^2(x) + sin^2(x) = 1 so cos^2(3t) + sin^2(3t)=1

Ah so you just ignore the 3 because its the same for both so comes back to the same, my stupid mistake thank you guys!

Yeah, the three is just part of whatever angle it is. That identity is true for all angles.
