If a-b=6.0C and a+b=5.7C and C=5.3i+4.7j what are the x and y components of a &b for each equation?

I figured out the values of 6.0C and 5.7C, but I'm not sure what to do next.

If I'm understanding the problem correctly, what you'll want to do is add the first two equations together. Then b cancels out, and you're left with 2a=11c, c=2a/11, 2a/11=5.3î+4.7j. You can get the value of C by the Pythagorean Theorem. Namely:\[C=\sqrt{5.7^2+6.0^2}\]
