Let S={-2,-2,0,1,2,3}. Describe each of the following sets as: {xES : p(x)} where p(x) is some condition on x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So where are they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

between -2 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's not a set

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are elements of the set...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what does "between" mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

S is the set of elements {-2,...3} I meant that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Describe each of the following sets" I am asking where are the 'following sets'....:-(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

;/ sorry... A= {1,2,3}, B={0,1,2,3}, C={-2,-1}, D={-2,2,3}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So to get a p(x) you find some property of th elements that they have in common but that are not common with the other members in S eg the set A contains positive integers and the other members of S are not positive integers so that's a good description. and you would say {x in S : x is positive integer}

thank you :)
