You are going out with your friends and trying to decide what to wear. You have the set of shirts and the set of bottoms below. Find A X B. A = {green, yellow, blue} B = {white, denim, khaki}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

{(green, white), (green, denim), (green, khaki), (yellow, white), (yellow, denim), (yellow, khaki), (blue, white), (blue, denim), (blue, khaki)}

so x just means how many pairs ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not exactly. i can't explain it very well, but basically, you are taking each thing variable from A and pairing it with every variable in B. if the problem were to read, B X A, then you would start each pair with a variable from B. example: B X A= {(white, green), (white, yellow), (white, blue), (denim, green).....and so on}
