f(x)=(x^2-100)/(x+10) I have to find the discontinuities and find the zeros. The first step I know is to factor the numerator but you can't can you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, it is the difference of two squares

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ok so since x^2 can be squared to x and 100 could be 10, its (x+10)(x-10) and that gives the negative oky doke im right right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is correct. now you can cancel the \(x-10\) and end up with \(x+10\) only
