Why is it we can not use the formula average velocity= change in position/time elapsed ? For example in problem set one (16(2.1^2)- 16(2^2))/.01= 65.6 ft/sec

say it takes you 3 hours to get up and go to the kitchen for a snack. You could accomplish the same distance, in the same amount of time, if you went a constant speed as opposed to running half way, answering the phone, using the bathroom, and then making it to the kitchen.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as such, the average velcoity is the time it would take to cover the same distance, in the same amount of time, with a constant velcoity
