*Someone please help* \[\left| x-x _{0} \right|<= \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\] I need to plot possible X values in number line. Is it right to limit values to 0 and 0.5 including those border values? I don't understand what x0 is. Is it just same as x or different number??

nobody :(?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x0 typically stands for a fixed constant value. you are trying to find the x's that satisfy this equation for a fixed x0. try x0=0 to understand the problem. then generalize

now i get -infinity to 0.5. im still confused if i need to find values only 0.5 distance from each other and somehow mark it or if i need to mark this whole range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-infinity is not only .5 away from 0. the points distance of .5 from 0 are all points less than .5 and greater than -.5 (you can plug these values in to check). try to understand why this is true before moving on. you're right that it is a distance of .5 away from the point. the absolute values mean x-x0 is less than .5 and it's greater than -.5. What values of x can satisfy that?

I was thinking the hard way again. (Didnt mean that -infinity is 0.5 from origo though)Thanks!
