Why is it necessary to be able to replicate the results of a scientific experiment?

It's necessary so you know that your experiment is valid. If it can't be replicated, it can't be proven.

Replication also allows statistical tests to be used to observe differences in the experiments. Think that if one experiment tells you that a ball falls to earth 9.9m/s, and another ten tell you 9.8m/s, you know that something somewhere went wrong. It's like making sure you know you are right.
