Choose the answer that best describes the sentence. Did you make Mr. Wallace and Ms. Frye copies of the guest list? A. This sentence has a compound subject. B. This sentence has a compound verb. C. This sentence has a compound direct object. D. This sentence has a compound indirect object.
***I think the answer is A. the sentence has a compound subject (mr.wallace and ms. frye) am i right??
Hii!! thanks for coming :)
Well, this one is tricky. You have to look for the verb first. Anything after the verb is predicate
Everything before the verb is "subject". Ask yourself what the subject is in this case.
ohhhh.... is the subject you??
Bingo
and is the verb make??
im confused now :(
Before you confuse yourself anymore, you might want to consult this: http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/index2.htm
oh okay cool! i mean i'm confused as to what the answer is lol.. but am i correct about the verb?? is it make??
yes it makes sense... it will then say did u make copies of the guest list?? what do i do now?? what does that mean? :O
idk an object??
sooo is the direct object copies??
I believe the key word for the answer choices is "compound"
so is it list?? and @hero what do u mean by compound??
The only way something is compound is if it includes two things with "and" between them
If you look at the answer choices, every option has the word "compound" in it
ohhh so is the answer D. the sentence has a compound INDIRECT object ??? cuz mr.wallace and ms.frye are the indirect objects?? am i right? :D
So in essence, we have to identify the right compound
Yes, correct. I don't know why nincompoop mentioned anything about direct objects
thank you!! :D
thanks everyone!! :D and @hero did u get my message?
