OpenStudy (adunb8):

can anyone help me????? xy' - 2y-x^3sinx = 0

OpenStudy (adunb8):

do i use homogenous equation or 1st order or exact?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide through by x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

move the x^2 sin(x) you'll get y' +f(x)*y = g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that should be familiar:)

OpenStudy (adunb8):

oh i see ! 1st order!! but are you able to use homogenous equation? is that possible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's in the 'form' where you can use the 'integrating factor' method... I think I remember you referring to that as 'exact' but I'm not sure on that..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

different people call it by different names, but we did it once before, iirc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what I'm talking about?

OpenStudy (adunb8):

oh i see okay! so basically try to do make it into the formula form and see if it works and use that integrating method.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep:)

OpenStudy (adunb8):

yesthank you~~~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure:)
