GEOMETRY HELP PLEASE!!! Gareth is drawing a geometric figure. He first constructs two diagonals that bisect each other but are not perpendicular. What else does Gareth need to know about the diagonals to determine whether the quadrilateral will be a rectangle or a parallelogram? Explain your answer using complete sentences.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

many things - a parallelogram with equal diagonals is a rectangle - if the diagonals are perpendicular then they are part of a rectangle (theorem), which is NOT NECESSARILY THE CASE for a paralleogram - a rectangle is a parallelogram but not vice-versa

"A rectangle and A parallelogram have perpendicular diagonals." is all i could come up with, thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@xxjakkixx NO parallelogram does not have perpendicular diagonals, its is NOT general case thats a very special case, example, if it is a square or a rectangle then its is true, ELSE not

thanks!!! really good to know!
