I have a 10th grade geometry question. Using p and q , write the symbolic statement. p: points x,y and z are not collinearq: points x, y and z form a triangle. Is anyone going to help me. I have the actual problems listed below.
p (arrow) q
\[p \rightarrow q \]
next problem: ~q
not q: points x, y and z do not form a triangle.
is that for both problems? and how would you write that? I am trying to help my daughter with this geometry. I did not understand geometry when I was in high school.... So I am trying to now.......
1st problem is \[p \rightarrow q\] 2nd problem is ~q
oh okay, \[p \rightarrow q\] means If p then q its a conditional statement
so it would be if points x,y and z are not collinear then points x, y and z form a triangle.
the ~q means NOT q so that would be points x, y and z do not form a triangle
