is 0 a negative number?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0 is tricky. It depends, sometimes it could be included like non negative, sometimes not. Depends on book you use
OpenStudy (turingtest):
true, I was going on the idea that for simple purposes
x<0 is negative and x>0 is positive
but @myko is certainly right, it's a subtle issue

I am in pre-algebra
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then i would put it in non-negative chunk
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so i only add the 0 when it is positive
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i would say that you include 0 when you say non-positive or non-negative, since it is bouth. And exclude it when you say positive or negative, since it's neither
OpenStudy (anonymous):
non-positive would be: all negative + 0
non-negative would be: all positive + 0
