For graphing sets of numbers...what does it mean when you don't fill the circle around a number? HELPPPP
you're talking about open circle vs closed circle: closed circle means "is greater than or equal to" or "is less than or equal to" while open circle means "is greater than" or "is less than" the difference is in the presence/absence of "or equal to"
so if i had to plot the set of negative integers greater than -7....then it would be a open circle??
yes, because you're not including -7
i don't even have to add the open circle..right?
you do
there will be two open circles- one on -7 and the other on -1. You shade in between them.
but my teacher said i can just start on -6 and plot-5,-4,-3,-4,-1
you can, are you plotting them on a number line or something else?
and you only shade when it says real number...I am plotting sets of numbers on a number line
okay
so how can you tell if you need to add the number or not
??
what number? I'm used to always including the numbers it says in the problem, with the appropriate circle
oh ok i am learning differently then
