what does slope of a line mean?
how steep it is
??
@sparki1
the slope means how steep a line is
|dw:1347993734045:dw| A has higher slope than B
Does that make sense?
slope is rise over run. slope intercept form is y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept (the place where the line crosses the y axis) example: y = 2x + 4 2 would be the slope. to find the slope on the graph, you would count up 2 points, right 1 point, and you'd be at the next point on the line. (because 2 (rise)/1 (run) = 2) 4 would be the y-intercept.
or rise over run is that
@Turner @B.R.M i know to calculate but what is the physical significance of this
For the grade (incline or gradient or pitch or slope) of any physical feature, see Grade (slope). The slope of a line in the plane is defined as the rise over the run, m = Δy/Δx. In mathematics, the slope or gradient of a line describes its steepness, incline, or grade. A higher slope value indicates a steeper incline. Slope is not defined for vertical lines.
@shaik0124 thanks and thanks to you all
its my pleasure @erica.d
welcommee
:D
No problem thanks @shaik0124
hmmmmmmm@turner no need
