LGBARIDDLE A boy saw a shirt in a mall and bought it for $7. Then, he sold it for $8. Then, bought it again for $9 then sold it again for $10. How much is the profit?

hartnn (hartnn):

2$ 8+10-(7+9)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

sure?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

why not $1?

hartnn (hartnn):

because he profited $1 in BOTH transactions.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

if he bought for $7 then sold for $8 that means he got $1 profit. then, he bought for $9 that means he lost $1...so since it's increment-decrement..it becomes 0. then he sold for $10...doesn't that mean he gained $1?

hartnn (hartnn):

nopes.Lets say he had $100.bout for 7-->93$,sold for 8--->101$--->bought for 9--->92$--->sold for 10---->102$ net profit = 2$.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

okay. im content with your defense

hartnn (hartnn):

and when he bought for $9, thats not actually loss,its new investment...
