What is the equation of the following graph?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

a=??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Lets pretend the origin is right in the middle of the green square

OpenStudy (eyust707):

we will then later translate it back to the place it is

OpenStudy (eyust707):

a =5

OpenStudy (eyust707):

y = 16/10 x

OpenStudy (eyust707):

y= 8/5 x therefore using the picture I posted b = 8

OpenStudy (eyust707):

then we translate it -5, 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am not sure still is it ((x+5)^2 )/36 -((y-7)^2)/64=1

OpenStudy (eyust707):

I believe it is: \[{(x + 5)^2 \over 36} - {(y -1)^2 \over 64} = 1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops... ((x+5)^2 )/36 -((y-1)^2)/64=1

OpenStudy (eyust707):

I think I might have counted the slope incorrectly..

OpenStudy (eyust707):

that little graph is hard to read lol

thanx @eyust707 for the numeral correction..
