help factor. 5y8 - 125
\[5y^8=125\] ---> \[y^8=25\]---->\[y=\sqrt[8]{25}\]
Is it factor or solve for y? (which is what @akash809 did)
its factor for y @jackellyn which im not good at :I
Okay, so the term that 5 and 125 have in common is 5, so you factor that out 125/5=25 so that leaves you with \[5(y ^{8}-25)\]
now, let's look at (y^8-25) y^8 is the same as (y^4)^2 and 25 is the same as (5)^2
which will be a difference of squares so you split it into two (y⁴-5)(y⁴+5) and one has a + and one has a - because the product of a + and - is - and dont forget the 5 up front so the answer is 5(y⁴-5)(y⁴+5)
@jackellyn idk why its so hard for me to understand :c i used to know how to do factors but i forgot ._.
its all about practice and knowing the rules lol
