A man makes 4 consecutive displacements so that at the end of his walk, he is back where he started. The fist displacement is 8.0 m W. The next is 15 m S. Then, 5.0 m NW. Graphically find the magnitude and direction of the 4th displacement.

Start with the origin as the the man's starting point. If he walks 8.0m W, that's -8.0x, or in engineering notation (my preference), that's -8.0i+0j. Now, starting from (-8,0)m, take the next step and so on. Calculate the angle and the magnitude of the final point from the origin, and that should do it.

Could you draw a picture of that so I can compare what I have?
