An archer releases an arrow from a shoulder height of 1.39m. When arrow hits target 18m away, it hits point A. (8cm). When target is removed, arrow lands 45m away. Find the maximum height of the arrow along its parabolic path. Have no idea how to even begin. Thanks
Maybe nothing. there is a diagram of a target. At pooint A is 8cm and in each circle above that point is 4 cm.

So you need an equation of a parabola that will describe the arrow's flight. I haven't worked it yet, but because you know it hits the target at 18, you have one point there, and it hits the ground at 45, so you have (45,0) at the far right. Hopefully you can use those two points to solve for the unknown constants in the parabola equation.
