[Part 1 (4 points)] Show all work in dividing 4t^2-1/15t+10 divided 4t^2-4t+1/3t^2+5t+2 . [Part 2 (2 points)] Use complete sentences to explain your process.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try factoring the stuff in the numerator. Also factor the denominator. Look for anything you can cancel to simplify.

I got an answer but it looks completely wrong, and I have no where to check it.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

one thing to know... is dividing a fraction by a fraction, invert and multiply. \[\frac{4t^2 - 1}{15t + 1} \times \frac{3t^2 + 5t + 2}{4t^2 -4t + 1}\] now you have it in this form... factorise and the common factors that can be cancelled will become obvious

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

oops missing a zero in the denominator of the 1st fraction

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

whats your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2t+2)(x+3)(x+2)/5(3t+2)(2t-1). I know it can't be right, it looks totally wrong.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well here is my suggestion |dw:1348172496434:dw|

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

cancell the common factors|dw:1348172624297:dw| which gives an answer
