Please help :) Okay so my objective is to find the x and y coordinates using the addition method. 5x+4y=0 3x+7y=0 Usually you would multiply one equation my a number to cancel out either the x or the y, but i'm confused because there is nothing you can multiply it by to cancel out the x or y.

multiply the top one by 3 and the bottom one by 5

looks like you will have to multiply both equations by different values. You can multiply one equation by say 3 and the other by -5.

:D You are not limited to multiplying only one equation. As long as the equations are balanced.
