i would like sigmund fred theory explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi! Freud had a lot of theories, can you say which one you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i explain the ego defends against anxiety. and it possible that you gives examples

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example when you are a baby you are all ID. you poop whenever you want, wherever you want. As an adult it is not culturally acceptable to poop wherever and whenever you want, your ego suppresses your id to the point that now you're not even aware of wanting to poop in public. The ego hides the "base" impulses of the id from you, if you give into your id and poop in public you feel guilt and shame. But you don't do that and you don't want to. One way the ego might be seen to defend you from anxiety might be that if you gave into the id you would be socially ostracized and that would feel bad. Another thing could be that the ego actively represses the urges of the id, so that you are not aware of wanting to poop in public, if you were, it would cause you anxiety, guilt, shame, because that's not acceptable. Hope this helps.

Sigmund Freud proposed, "Psycho-analytic theory." It emphasis of the Unconscious Mind. He introduced two motives in his theory they are: 1)Libido- Sex motive. 2) Thanatoos-Aggressive motive. So, take for example, you enjoy the pleasure of an Ice cream. Freud explains, it is due to sex motive. Same time, when you get irritated it is due to aggression motive. So, he finally introduced a new method which is popular today known as "CASE STUDY METHOD.", which was first used by him.
