OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

factor 16-6x-x^(2) what does the whole solution look like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aimmeBgood are you here?

OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let solve your problem together........does you know about middle term spilt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eh uzumakhi.. We have Nurroto here on the openstudy..

OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

sort of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its naruto not nurroto

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will advise you to take the minus common and then solve it will ease the problem @uzumakhi and carry on..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like this : \[-(x^2 + 6x - 16)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about this 16 - 8x + 2x - x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Carry on I said..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16 - 8x + 2x - x^2 8(2 - x) + x(2 - x) (8+x)(2-x)

OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

ok. so does the both the 2 and 8 come from the same number or is the 8 from the 16 and the 2 from the 6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the solution is -2 and 8

OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

but where does the 2 and 8 come from in the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first is 16 and second is -6x we have to select to numbers in such a way that if we multiple them then we got first number or number which is not having x and if we add them we got second number or number with x this is known as middle term split method we write -6x = -8x + 2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have u understand @aimmeBgood

OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

ok. well thats more simple then i thought. thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and try to solve this 2x^2 + 6x + 4 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aimmeBgood

OpenStudy (aimmebgood):

i dont really understand it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i say try middle term split method in this and tell me the answer i want to check whether you understand it or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@uzumakhi good very good.
