OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[\neg \emptyset=\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is like "red C-flat minor" Meaningless combination of words. Oh well, not the first , is it ?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

oh my lol XD

OpenStudy (klimenkov):

What is the basic set?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the universal set?

OpenStudy (klimenkov):

Yes. Sorry for my English.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

negation is a LOGIC'S operation. In sets there are other operations (for example Complement - which is related BUT IS NOT NEGATION)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

what symbol is that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That symbol is for negation..

OpenStudy (klimenkov):

The second is for an empty set.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[\emptyset^c=\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Compliment ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All the elements in the universal set except phi..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[complIment = I*\frac{complEment}{E}\] @waterineyes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nice but What do you want to say.. @Mikael

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was a math joke. Beforehand I wanted to point that Languages - mathematical or otherwise - are not negligible. One MUST use the appropriate language and expressions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Complement ??? This comment is okay or not ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. BTW where were You born (if I might ask)

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

now where did this concept come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry if this was intrusive

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yeah i mean what is not the empty set, ? or what is the complement of the empty set? Australia

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can be...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are right mr. @UnkleRhaukus that this is a mathematical AXIOM it is NOT absolute truth. Axiom - The complement of empty set is the Universal set

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically, I think this will tend to infinity or this condition we should avoid in case of Sets..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is widely used. Almost in every math sub-area

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

im a little confused still

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r right - one CAN use a more refined or restricted alternatives
