Need second opinion on abstract
The effects of natural selection on peppered moths (Bison betularia) was demonstrated by the before and after effects of the Industrial Revolution in England on their environment. The trees were white before it occurred and black after which caused a directional selection favoring dark moths. In our experiment black and light backgrounds were used to determine the predation on differently colored moths over four generations and 3 predations. This was tested by assigning a group member as the predator. The hypothesis stated that moths of similar color to that of their background would survive more frequently than those that did not match. To test this hypothesis a group member was made a “predator”. After rounds of predation we failed to reject our hypothesis stating that moths of similar colored to that of their background had a high survival rate. Results came on very slow demonstrating that natural selection is a long process.
Thinking of cutting out the industrial revolution portion
What does the "3 predations" part mean?
That one of us acted as the predator and we selected 5 moths that we saw first to pick out of the population
