Find the domain of the function. a) f(x)=5x+4/x^2+3x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start by factoring out the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we know the denominator cannot be 0 can you tell me why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is infinity then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at the moment, just call it undefined so looking at the denominator denominator can't be 0 so solve for x x^2+3x+2=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once you solved for x your domain can be everything except for the 2 x values you found because if x were equal to the 2 x values, the the graph would become undefined and thus no solution would exist on those points
