OpenStudy (anonymous):

if a + b is odd then a is odd and b is even

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a.b is even

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a.b -1 is odd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you very much :) though on the answer sheet ab-1 is even...must be a mistake...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it's wired

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's none of that options

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the sum a+b is odd or individual no are odd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's where i'm confused bcz the Q says If a + b are odd integers....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it's individual a+ b is even

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a.b is odd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a.b-1 is even

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmm.....the 3rd seems the only possible answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nevermind, B is the only possible answer. ab is odd for odd a,b therefore ab - 1 must be even.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried it's giving odd...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let's assume a+b is 5 ..........so ab is 4x1???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is ab odd?
