OpenStudy (lilsis76):

its a triginometry problem: find angle b, angle bdc and angle acd if its a triangle sliced almost through the middle. the right side given is. angle C at top is 36 degrees, angle A lower right is 36 degrees and angle D the one that is the triangle slided is 108; yet on the other side to the left, the C angle at top is 72 degrees, the angle at lower left is 36 degrees and back at D is 72 degrees.

OpenStudy (lilsis76):

Do i have to add up all the sides to find the angle BDC & angle ADC??

hartnn (hartnn):

do u know the property of isosceles triangle, that if two angles are congruent , then their opposite sides are equal ?

OpenStudy (lilsis76):

lol i didnt know that okay so this would be an isosceles triangle then. so would that make angle <BDC = 108 degree?

hartnn (hartnn):

didn't u find out BDC as 72 degrees? thats correct 72.

OpenStudy (lilsis76):

OH! okay angle BDC is 72, and angle ADC is 108. right?!

OpenStudy (lilsis76):

but now i have another question. It says WHY DOES AC= BC = BD? for the rest of this problem assume AD = 1. I dont even know where to start

hartnn (hartnn):

your angles are correct. look at triangle ABC, which two angles are congruent ?

OpenStudy (lilsis76):

congruent means the same so im going to say <A & <B
