\[3 โˆ’ 24 รท 8 + 4^{2}\]

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Follow the order of operations.

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Remember PEMDAS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

List PEMDAS for me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So following PEMDAS (Parenthese (), Exponets, Multiplication, Division, Addition Subtraction), you would start with \[4^{2}\]. 4 squared is 16. So your equation now reads 3-24/8+16. 24/8 is 3. So now you have 3-3+16. 16+3 is 19. 3-19 is -16. Please, anyone correct if I'm worng.

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

It's wrong Dj, because you were supposed to add -3 + 16 if you're going to do it that way.

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

3-3+16 (3-3)+16 = 0+16

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Otherwise, 3 + (-3+ 16) = 3+13=16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah soorry :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ 15 โˆ’ 4 + (7 โˆ’ 5)^{2}\]

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Post this as a new question bob. And close this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah new q

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fine 7-5 is 2. 2 squared is 4. 4+4 is 8. 15-8 is 7
