Guys i have this question can u help me ? give the function f(x) = [[x^2]] On a graph paper, sketch a graph of f(x) on intercal [0,3] Statte the range on the whole domain Find f(sqrt3.7) At exactly what domain value does the graph jump from y = 5 to y = 6 ? I'm really suck at graphing :(

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm ok a bunch of stuff c: Graphing isn't too bad, just do a T chart. pick an x value, plug it into the equation to get a corresponding y value. Do that x=0, x=1, x=2, and even x=3 maybe c: Range of the WHOLE domain? or just the region that you sketched? If they want to know the entire Range, then they're basically asking.. what y values can be produces from your equation c: If you put in really large x values, does y stop at a certain point or does it just keep getting larger and larger. Then do the same for large negative values of x and see what happens.

so at the first question, i just start ploting at y = 3, x = 0 ?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[f(\sqrt{3.7}) = (\sqrt{3.7}^{2})\] this should simplify very nicely c:

zepdrix (zepdrix):

x=0 gives you \[f(0) = 0^{2}\] so your first ordered pair is the point on your graph (0,0)

still not getting it can u draw it out ?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Oh there's a draw function? neato.. yah lemme try that c:
