6x^(17/19) - 12 = 0

I'm guessing I should start by dividing both sides by 6.

I tried adding 6 (12/2) to both sides and then multiplying both sides by ^19/17...but that was apparently a misstep.

Any thoughts?

|dw:1348536036691:dw| its a little tricky, lemme know if yer confused. you want the exponent on x to be 1. so if x was squared, you would take the square root (in other words if the power was 2, you would be applying a 1/2 power to that). since the power is 17/19, we'll apply a 19/17 power to get x^1 :O
