The equaton 9.95 + .30s = c gives the cost c in dollars that a website charges for downloading songs. The variable s stands for the number of songs downloaded. Find the cost of downloading 35 songs. 9.95 20.45 35.00 114.45 i believe it is 35.00 can someone check?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you think it's 35? How did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know im so confused on it

Make it easier so you can learn... What if I said the equation for the cost of downloading songs was c= $0.50s, in other words, each song costs 50 cents. How would you find the total cost for, say, 10 songs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you times that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, sorry stepped away.. yes, you multiply number of songs times cost per song

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so on your problem, the equation says you multiply number of songs times 30 cents or 0.30.... but.... you also add 9.95 to the total

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you multiply 0.30 dollars per song x 35 songs and then add 9.95 to that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's like a $9.95 membership fee plus $0.30 per song

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to pay the member fee no matter what, but after that, you can download songs for $0.30 each.... so your total cost is your member fee PLUS # of songs times $0.30
