So the distance from the north pole to the equator is... approximately 10,000 km. I have to use this information to find an approximate value for the earth's radius but I'm not sure where to start. Please help if you can! There's a diagram in the comments :)

this distance = 1/4 of the circumference since the earth approximates to a sphere we can use 40,000 = 2*pi*r where r = radius so r = 40,000 / 2* pi

yea simplifying a bit r = 20,000 / pi km
