3d/4 - 1/2 = 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you trying to do? what's the question asking?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is D nd show work please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't just tell you the answer, or i'll get banned. terms and condition stuff. so you have to basically get d by itself. to do so you always want to get on one side, anything not associated with d directly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to solve a general equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 8 but i HAVE to show work!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can show the work if you know how to do the problem without looking at the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dnt no how i did it in my head

OpenStudy (anonymous):

say you have a, b, c and d as a number and x as a variable: if you have ax + b = cx +d you always want to get all the numbers and variables on one side, so always pick a side where you want variables and numbers: say you want the left to have variables and the right to have numbers: so then you would proceed: ax - cx = d-b then you would divide by that number multiplied by x to get x by itself. if you have x + a = b then you would subtract to get x by itself if you have x - a = b then you would add to get x by itself (add both sides, same as above) if you have ax = b, divide both sides by a to get x by itself and if you have x/a = b then multiply both sides to get x by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write down what you did in your head.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember the goal is to always get the variable by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont no how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

read what i posted earlier.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm but never mind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look you're not going to be able to figure anything out if you jsut get the answer, you have to want to know how to learn the method. if you don't want to then no one can help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry if you feel that way. maybe someone else can explain it better.
