f you take 40 pounds of luggage with you on a vacation and you buy 10 pounds of souvenirs for your family (because you're really nice), do those extra souvenirs change the density of your luggage? If the density does change, how does this happen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Density = Mass/Volume Because the volume of your suitcase stays the same and you cram more stuff into it (more mass), the density will change.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

density will not change,if the density of buyed luggage is same as luggage you already had....otherwise it will change..

I suppose this depends on how you define 'luggage'. I assumed it meant a suitcase full of your stuff, because they said it's what you're taking on vacation. I'm not sure anyone would buy a suitcase that weighs 40 pounds when empty!
