Is the following always, sometimes, or never true? 14 + 3x – 7 = 7x + 7 – 4x A, Always B. sometimes C. never

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try to move all the numbers that has an x involved to one side and everything else to the other side of the equality sign. Then simplify... If you get a true statement, then the answer is A. If the get a false statement, then the answer is C. A true statement can be the following (an example): x = x or 1 = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay im going to do that now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait do i add all of the numebers with the x's in them to one side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well... you move them first, along their x's. For example if you have 2x + 3 = 5x, then you would subtract both sides by 2x such that you have the following: 3 = 5x - 2x Now you tell me if we are adding the 5 to the 2 or are we subtracting?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just curious, what is your answer to the question you first posted?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a.always

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i figured out it came out to be 7=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You've got it!! Good work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about T=4U over E, solve for U

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean T = (4U)/E ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no sorry i got the wrong problem
