I'm in 8th grade, I just switched schools. My old school was further behind my new school. Currently we are working on Integer Rules. I am lost as I missed the first days of my teacher teaching this. I need helps with this problem 9m-5m+3 Any help explaining how I solve these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Is there a total that it equals at the end?
actually, it doesn't have an equals sign at the end. I just need to learn how to solve them.
The problem with this is that it isn't an actual equation, it is more like an expression. Since it does not equal anything, you will not be able to solve for m. The best you can do is simplify the expression to 4m + 3.
You have positive and negative integers. 9m-5m=3 equals 4m+3 because you actually have 9(m)-5(m)+3. You're going to subtract 5m from 9m and you get 4m+3.
*9m-5m+3
Thank you guys. This is a great site!!
No problem. I hope you catch on really quckily(:
Thanks, me too :o)
