What is the domain of this rational function f(x)= (3x-8 )/(4x+20)
The domain is the set of admissible values of x. In a rational function, the first thing to do is to see if there is a value of x that makes the entire denominator have a value of zero. If there is one that does that, it must be excluded from the domain because division by zero is undefined? Do you see such a value of x?
I got it thank you (-y)/((4x^4)) is my answer.
@rannsan --> Whatever you wrote above is not the answer to the question. The question you posted has to do with domain. --> What is the domain of this rational function?
now I am confused
(-y)/((4x^4)) is the answer to a simplify question I just saw that you posted in another thread. Forget about that and look at the question you posted in this thread.
I think you have this question here: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/50652851e4b08d185211dad2 mixed up with the question about the domain.
