Raul injures his ankle in a soccer game and cannot run for an extended period of time. The doctor recommends aquatic activity to minimize which principle? specificity progression overload reversibility

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

This is def not math hmmmmm

OpenStudy (nottim):

Should relocate this question, but i duno what group. Maybe physics? looks like biophysics

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

I dont know this stuff cant help u

OpenStudy (nottim):

anyways, what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is HOPE

OpenStudy (nottim):

first, which ones do you NOT want to reduce?

OpenStudy (nottim):

actually, phyisology

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

I would say reversibility

OpenStudy (nottim):

really? i wasnt thinking that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I think it is overload.

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

So what were u thinking?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but im not sure

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Oh stick to what u think cuz I seriously just guessed this stuff

OpenStudy (nottim):

Either specifity, as swimming is mostly a whole body excercise, or overloard, as swimming isn't as load bearing on oyur knees like walking, running, jogging or parkour

OpenStudy (nottim):

wait. minimize.

OpenStudy (nottim):

btw, waht's 'progession' definition in here?

OpenStudy (nottim):

also, swissgirl, why reversibility? (Also, what's reversibility? I might be thinking about it in the wrong way)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am going with OVerload:)

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Ya stick with ur gut feeling u wld know best

OpenStudy (nottim):

why not

OpenStudy (nottim):

not heh heh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 vote for reversibility...

OpenStudy (nottim):

why reversibility?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reversibility is a problem of "if you don't use it, you lose it". However, it applies primarily to strength and fitness, not skills.. You don't forget how to throw and catch or ride a bike through lack of practice. So, ankle recovery by couch-sitting would cause loss of fitness. Ankle recovery by swimming would maintain fitness (and minimize the problem of reversibility) while not creating a loss of soccer skills.
