Graph the equation. y = 4x – 3
Mark the point (0, -3) and draw a line with slope 4. Boom!
is it this ??
nope
Not quite, slope is rise over run. 4 is the same as 4 over 1, so it has to rise 4 and go over 1. Yours is going down 4 and over 1! Make it so it slopes the other way.
this one
crossing point is off too
okay this one
It crosses at y=3... then slope as @cholo71796 described
erp... oops... -3 crossing
so no ??
Not quite, yours looks like it is crossing at (0, -2) instead of (0, -3). Good on the slope now though
this one for sure ??
The thrid graph looks like it crosses at -3 on the y. The fourth one has a bad slope again.
Nah you had the slope good-- positive slopes go up and to the right-- but you got it crossing at (0, -3) now which is good
Going left to right it should be like you are going up hill if the slope is positive.
okay help me with this then !!!!
Suppose y varies directly with x, and y = 8 when x = –6. What direct variation equation relates x and y? What is the value of y when x = –2?
You should post a new question, so your helper gets a new point.
Cholo did good for you... pick best response next to his name and start again.
ok
