OpenStudy (azureilai):

What is the difference between a molecular formula and a chemical formula?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

they're the same thing.. i think you mean empirical vs molecular.. empirical is one derived from experiments and they're not the lowest possible ratios. molecular are lowest ratios and are representative of the actual compound.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

molecular formula is often written in the way the molecule is bonded such as CH3COOH while a chemical formula would be written in the normal way, C2H4O2
