Easy Trig question I think, just need verification of my thinking... Question is: Find the Radian measures of the two nearest angles (one positive, one negative) that are co-terminal with the angle: pi/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer is pi/4 and -7pi/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand the -7pi/4 part... but I do not see why pi/4 is the positive answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For my positive answer, I got 9pi/4, but the book lists the pi/4 answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is also an answer but the book chose the least.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.... but... pi/4 is a mutliple of 2pi? that is why it works?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it seems to me they are just saying... 1pi is a multiple of 2 pi?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1349223632734:dw| basically, anything on the 1st quadrant that has the same angle, when simplified, as pi/4 is considered a co-terminal angle
