(y+5)*(y+7)

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

In your book they were like this though (y+5)(y+7) right? If so then you just FOIL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(y+5)(y+7) = y^2 + 5y + 7y + 35 = y^2 + 12y + 35.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope it was just like this (y+5)*(y+7) ... multiply the binomials

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Oh, well, same thing.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

@Ahaanomegas did it correctly.

OpenStudy (calculusfunctions):

The product of two polynomials is the sum of the the products when each term of the first polynomial is multiplied by the second polynomial. (y + 5) (y + 7) = y(y + 7) + 5(y + 7) = y² + 7y + 5y + 35 = y² + 12y + 35 Sorry, made an error earlier.
