What were the major arguements that surfaced in opposition to the new constitution proposed in 1787?

The major problems were state representation. We have a bicameral legisture, meaning 2 houses. The Senate has two representatives per state, no matter population size. The House Of Representatives has members based on state population. The bigger the population, the more representatives. The big states wanted more representation because they had more population. The little states said it wasn't fair; they wanted equal representation. Roger Sherman proposed the two house legislature. His proposal is known as The Great Compromise. The House of Representatives gave the big states what they wanted, and the Senate, with equal representation, gave the small states what they wanted.
