OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain inductive reasoning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inductive arguments: An argument in which the truth of (all) the premises does not guarantee the truth of the conclusion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A deductive argument or deductive reasoning is an argument or reasoning in which the truth of (all) the premises guarantees the truth of the conclusion. Here's an example: 1. If Whaley the Wale nurses her young with milk, than Whaley the Wale is a mammal. 2. Whaley the Wale does nurse her young with milk. So, 3. Whaley the Wale is a mammal. This simple example of a deductive argument is called Modus Ponens.
