Remember, indirect objects answer the question "to" or "for" whom. In your examples, you could say "My sister gave a signed copy of the book TO me." The "to" is implied in example B. In the other examples, you could not use "to/for" in front of the underlined expressions and have the sentence make sense. The underlined words in examples A and C are direct objects. Hope this helps you remember the logic in the future.
