Help Please Can a horizontal line have an x-intercept? What if the line passes through the origin? Explain. A. A horizontal line sometimes have an x-intercept. If the line is the x-axis itself, it will have x-intercepts at every point on the line, because the x-intercept is defined as the points at which a line touches the x-axis. B. A horizontal line never have an x-intercept. The x-intercept is defined as the point at which a line crosses the x-axis.

Answer is A. If you have the equation y=0, then yes you will have infinitely many x-intercepts. An x-intercept means that the line/graph goes through the x-axis.
